Nut Producers Australia (NPA) is an almond and pistachio processing and marketing business with a charter to maximise returns to growers and has an annual turnover more than $100 million. The business is a collective of three companies: NPA, the Marketing and Administration company based in Adelaide, Riverland Almonds in Loxton and Australian Pioneer Pistachio Company, based in Robinvale, Vic. As a separate and complementary channel, NPA also carries on the business of product trading to add to the growth of the business.

The finance team provides services to four companies; NPA, the marketing and administration company based in Adelaide; Riverland Almonds, the almond processing company based in Loxton; Riverland Almonds Hulling, the almond hulling company based in Lindsay Point; and, Australian Pioneer Pistachio Co, the pistachio processing company based in Robinvale. NPA also carries on the business of product trading to add to the growth of the business.
About the role
As part of the Finance team, the Assistant Accountant will provide support to the team and be responsible for the preparation, development, and analysis of financial information to allow the organisations to make well informed decisions to ensure future stability, profitability, and growth.
Our aim is to have efficient and effective processes for all transactions, so we seek an individual who is keen and committed to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for SAP Concur Expense & Invoice modules
* Assist, as necessary, with the coding of expenses for input into SAP Concur.
* Input manual payments into SAP including foreign exchange payments.
* Upload payment files into banking system.
* Follow-up and ensure prompt payment of accounts. Act as primary contact & respond to supplier inquiries as required.
* Prepare the daily entry of transactions made in the bank and arrange transfer of monies between company bank accounts as necessary. Reconcile bank accounts daily.
* Support accountant and other members of the Finance team with monthly journals, financial reports, reconciliations etc.
* Assist with the investigation of reasons for variations between actual & budget results and liaise with operational staff to rectify issues.
* Assist with the preparation of PAYG, Fringe Benefits Tax & BAS returns for various enterprises within the group.
* Preparation of monthly reconciliations of selected balance sheet accounts in line with company procedures.
About You
* Completion or undertaking study towards Certificate IV – Accounting & Bookkeeping Accounting
* High level of proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office particularly Excel
* Previous experience in an agricultural environment would be an advantage along with experience with SAP Business One accounting system / SAP Concur
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse multi-skilled teams
* Commercial acumen
* Sound verbal and written communication skills
* Organisation and time management skills
