The role
You'll be the calm, capable first point of contact and the organisational backbone for our team. Day to day, you will:
* Welcome families and answer calls with warmth and professionalism.
* Support funeral directors and admin officers across a variety of tasks.
* Enter data and maintain accurate records and case files.
* Lodge death registrations in line with Queensland legislation (Queensland Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages).
* Manage inboxes and draft professional correspondence.
* Liaise with families and external partners (church staff, celebrants, doctors, nurses, QPS, QAS, hospital teams, solicitors and others).
* Create Order of Service booklets and Memorial Books.
* Compile photo tributes and presentations.
* Coordinate social media posts in line with brand tone and family wishes.
You'll bring
* Reliability, initiative and a genuinely caring nature.
* Excellent presentation and clear, compassionate communication.
* Strong grammar, spelling and attention to detail.
* Confidence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint/Publisher, Outlook).
* Discretion and a strong understanding of confidentiality.
* A collaborative mindset plus the ability to work independently.
* Composure in a fast‑paced, sometimes high‑pressure environment.
Nice to have but not essential
* Experience designing and producing printed stationery (e.g., programs, keepsakes).
* Prior experience in a funeral, healthcare, hospitality, or front‑of‑house admin role.
* Current open QLD driver licence (automatic).
