About the Role
The Principal Advisor, Autism will:
1. Coach school leadership teams to build staff capability to implement evidence-informed practices to support students with autism.
2. Deliver autism-specific professional learning for school staff, regional leaders and school communities.
3. Establish and cultivate effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders including school teams, parents, internal and external stakeholders.
4. Collaborate with key regional staff to ensure a coordinated approach to support schools in the implementation of inclusive, evidence-based practices to meet the learning needs of students with autism and reduce practices that create barriers to access and participation.
5. Provide advice and support to schools with at-risk or critical incidents involving students with autism.
6. Disseminate user friendly research to school communities, parents and external agencies on supporting students with autism.
7. Collect and share up-to-date information on programs, services and supports for students with autism.
