About the Role:
The Lead Specialist in Livestock Development will spearhead the NSW Department of Primary Industries and regional research and development program to drive innovation and growth in beef, sheep, goat, and pasture production.
Key Responsibilities:
* Program Management: Oversee the successful establishment, co-investment, and completion of research and development initiatives that align with the NSW DPIRD Strategic Plan.
* Leadership: Lead the Extensive Livestock and Pastures Branch, ensuring alignment with government priorities and industry needs for long-term sustainability.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Prioritize and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and research partners, including government agencies and research corporations.
* Project Delivery: Negotiate projects and secure funding to enhance contract management and foster a high-quality project and financial management culture among staff.
