- Salary range $129,379 - $173,140 plus superannuation

About us
Youth Justice are offering an exceptional opportunity within our management team for a General Manager to lead our team in the Loddon Mallee region. We are seeking someone who possesses strong leadership and change management skills, an understanding of statutory services, and high -level stakeholder management experience.
About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director, North Area the General Manager, Youth Justice will be a member of both the region's and area's executive management team. This position has a significant role in oversighting services responding to children and young people in the criminal justice system and providing strategic and operating advice for the entire region and delivering strategic outcomes to address issues affecting the region in regard to a coordinated response to youth crime as a whole.
The General Manager, Youth Justice will work closely with Youth Justice Custodial Services, the Youth Parole Board, other government departments and with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and Community Service Organisations funded by the department to deliver services in the region that work with children and young people involved with, or at risk of entering the criminal justice system.
The role requires robust people and team management skills, as well as strategic planning skills.
This is a fulltime position primarily based in Bendigo or Mildura, with frequent travel across the region required.

**To succeed in this role you will have**:

- Strong leadership and change management experience, managing teams and resources, ensuring smooth service delivery
- Significant understanding of the Youth Justice System, principles, frameworks and relevant legislation
- Experience working with complex/high-risk individuals or youth
- Exceptional report writing
- Relevant social work / welfare / human services qualification is preferred
- Current and full Victorian driver's licence

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**:

Therefore, there is a requirement that all DJCS employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to undertake duties outside of their homes.
At interview stage and prior to commencement of employment with the department, you will need to provide evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 with three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).

**Acceptable evidence includes**:

- COVID-19 digital certificate with three doses registered (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
