About the Role
The General Site Superintendent/Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing the safe and effective completion of construction activities on a remote site.
This role leads the company's presence on site, in the absence of the Construction Manager, during the construction phase. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
The jobholder will lead by example, fostering a strong Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) culture across the site. They will champion proactive safety practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure real-time feedback is delivered to uplift safety standards.
A key aspect of this role is maintaining high visibility on site through regular field presence and daily safety inspections. The jobholder will also oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and share key learnings within the team.
In addition, the General Site Superintendent/Site Manager will ensure all plant, structures, and systems are free from hazards and risks. They will supervise and deliver effective training, hazard communication, and ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) availability.
The role involves monitoring environmental, heritage, and community commitments on site. This includes investigating and reporting environmental and heritage breaches, enforcing corrective actions, and collaborating with the Project Director and Construction Manager to deliver safe, high-quality construction activities.
The jobholder will also supervise construction teams, manage resources, and communicate effectively across departments. They will interpret scopes of work, manage budgets, and resolve site issues promptly.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a national police clearance that is not older than 3 months and hold a WA White Card. They must also meet all eligibility requirements outlined in Schedule 26 of the WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022.
