Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician

WITRON has more than 7,000 employees worldwide and operates an automated distribution centre in Kemps Creek, NSW. The role involves maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of electrical and mechanical systems within our fully air‐conditioned automated environment.
Our technicians work rotating shift work 5:00 გ‐2:30 pm & 2:30 pm‐11:15 pm, including days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Responsibilities
* Maximise system performance and uptime through effective execution of maintenance activities.
* Perform a broad array of electrical and mechanical tasks with minimal supervision.
* Support the production team through basic fault correction coaching and troubleshooting.
* Engage in fault finding and rectification with electrical/mechanical components such as motors and gears.
* Maintain automation control technology (PLCs, controls, inverters).
* Assist in the installation, refurbishment or upgrade of system components.
* Facilitate continuous improvement activities through system knowledge and site‐specific enhancements.
* Work collaboratively in a supportive environment that values teamwork.
Qualifications
* Electrical ticket or licence.
* Current CPR/LVR (within 12 months).
* Cert III or IV in Instrumentation & Control (desirable).
* Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical faults.
* Experience conducting preventive maintenance on electrical/mechanical systems.
* Skill in calibrating, testing, inspecting, operating, and maintaining electromechanical devices such as PLCs, motors, sensors, etc.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and maintenance documentation.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
* Commitment to safety and a proactive attitude toward workplace safety.
* A genuine interest in automation and technology, with aptitude to learn new concepts and procedures.
Physical Requirements
* Frequent walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and standing for long periods.
* Working at heights of up to 30 metres (wearing fall‐arrest gear and other PPE).
* Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 25 kg unassisted.
