About the Opportunity
Piacentini & Son, the principal contractor leading mine site rehabilitation works in the Peel region of Western Australia, are seeking a passionate and motivated Junior Mining Engineer to join our on-site team. This is an exciting opportunity to apply and grow your engineering expertise in a fast paced, yet supportive environment. You will be responsible for reviewing client supplied rehabilitation designs and translating them into actionable plans. You will develop and maintain work-packs based on real time rehabilitation progress, including cut/fill volumes, and ensure that schedules and weekly plans are aligned to operational targets. This role is integral to the successful execution of rehabilitation works, ensuring that they meet both environmental and operational standards. This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity that will be well suited to someone local to the Peel area.
About You
* 2+ years? experience in a similar role (exposure to Mineral Sand Processing preferred)
* Familiarity with mine design and scheduling software (Deswik)
* Bachelor?s degree in Mining Engineering, or related field
* A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
* Proven interpersonal and communication skills
* Display a clear commitment and focus on the health, safety and well-being of all employees
* Hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence
* Willingness to undertake a Pre-Employment Medical & Drug / Alcohol Screen
Responsibilities
* Interpret rehabilitation designs provided by clients and translate into practical, site-specific engineering solutions.
* Develop tailored rehabilitation strategies for individual operational areas, ensuring compliance with environmental requirements.
* Prepare and update work-packs, incorporating cut/fill data, material movement, and progress tracking.
* Maintain and manage rehabilitation schedules, aligning with overall project timelines and milestones.
* Plan weekly execution activities, create detailed and accurate schedules, and communicate them clearly to site teams.
* Collaborate with surveyors, management and other stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy and operational alignment.
* Monitor rehabilitation progress, identify variances, and adjust plans to achieve project targets.
* Support project invoicing processes by providing accurate data on completed works and quantities.
