A leading furniture retailer is seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee 5-10 stores across Sydney. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with proven success managing sales teams and driving performance across multiple sites.
You will be responsible for managing operations, coaching and developing store teams, achieving sales targets, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. The role requires a strong understanding of the furniture retail sector, with experience in sales leadership, operational management, and team motivation essential.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead, coach, and develop sales teams across multiple stores
* Drive sales, profitability, and operational excellence
* Monitor store performance and implement action plans to achieve targets
* Ensure high standards of customer service and merchandising
* Support recruitment, training, and ongoing development of store managers
What we're looking for:
* Proven experience in furniture retail, with strong sales and operational expertise
* Success managing multi-site teams and achieving measurable results
* Strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills
* Hands-on approach with the ability to motivate and support teams
* Flexible and adaptable, able to travel across Sydney stores
What's on offer:
* Competitive market salary plus incentives, or an agreed all-inclusive package (to be negotiated)
* Commission/incentive structure based on net profit share or growth percentage
* Flexible roster: minimum 5 days per week initially (including weekends and public holidays), with options for flexible days off once teams and targets are established
* Travel/car allowance negotiable
* Primarily store-based, with the option for one office day per week
