Position Overview
Grade: RPN3, SW2, OT2, P2. Full time and part time positions available.
This role is within Forensicare's Prison Services, providing mental health services across Victoria. Applications will be reviewed and assessed as received. Advertising may close earlier than indicated.
Responsibilities
* Deliver care within a custodial setting, practicing within a recovery framework and using sound judgement to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and maintain high standard of patient care.
* Recognise needs of the individual within professional boundaries, Forensicare and correctional services.
* Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide care and facilitate recovery for consumers using evidence‐based assessment and treatment approaches.
* Undertake comprehensive recovery‐oriented assessment and treatment plans.
* Contribute to development of community transition planning.
* Consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with key stakeholders within the correctional system to support consumer recovery.
* Demonstrate leadership skills and undertake clinical and other duties as allocated.
Key Selection Criteria
* Thorough understanding of and demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery.
* Approved qualification in nursing, social work, psychology or occupational therapy.
* Nursing: Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent; current registration with AHPRA.
* Social Work: Approved degree in social work, or other qualifications eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
* Occupational Therapy: Approved degree in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for membership of OT Australia – Australian Association of Occupational Therapists; current registration with AHPRA.
* Psychology: Holds a Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an APAC accredited course or equivalent OR Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology from an APAC accredited course or equivalent.
* Post qualification experience within mental health, preferably recent experience in community mental health setting or a demonstration of experience working within a secondary/tertiary mental health service.
* Influenza and immunisation evidence.
* Subject to a Police Check.
