Since 1976, Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) Aviation has been a vital part of protecting and serving communities across South East Queensland. Operating a fleet of EC135 and Bell 429 helicopters from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast—our mission goes beyond flying. We deliver comprehensive aviation solutions, including training, assessment, and engineering support, while championing a culture of safety, education, and empowerment.
We’re looking for a full-time pilot to join our close-knit, purpose-driven team based at our Gold Coast hangar but will be required to travel to our other bases on occasion. This position will be working 40 hours on a 4 days on, 4 days off roster.

What You’ll Do:
* Piloting EC135 and Bell 429 helicopters in both VFR and IFR operations, including NVIS
* Participating in regular rosters with standby periods
* Being an active contributor to our Safety Management System (SMS)
* Helping to shape and refine our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
* Delivering excellence and professionalism with every mission to ensure exceptional service and customer satisfaction
About You:
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Australian Commercial Helicopter Pilot Licence
* Single Pilot Class 1 Medical Certificate
* 2000+ total helicopter flight hours
* 1500+ command helicopter hours
* 1000+ turbine helicopter hours
* 200+ night helicopter hours
* NVIS rating with 3 renewals
* IFR rating with 3 renewals
* Low level rating
Highly Desirable Extras:
* EC135 type rating
* Bell 429 type rating with 100 hours
* Winch rating
* Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting ability
* Professional, personable, and a collaborative team player
* Discretion and professionalism on social media
* Calm under pressure with a positive, can-do attitude and excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
