B Lab's team in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand is part of a large global network and an even larger movement. To date, there are over 10,000 Certified B Corporations spanning more than 160 industries, employing over a million people around the world.
B Lab Australia & Aotearoa New Zealand (B Lab AANZ) supports almost 750 B Corps based in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand to measure and improve their impact, and to tell stories that inspire new purpose-driven businesses to do the same.
The Role The Head of Community Engagement is accountable for designing and delivering a community engagement strategy for AANZ Certified B Corporations. With a lens on the customer experience B Lab offers internally and externally, this role serves to nurture, retain and grow a thriving community of B Corps who are equipped and motivated to support B Lab's strategic goals, including adopting new standards for B Corp Certification.
This is a role where you will need to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with execution, while simultaneously thinking strategically about team management and broader objectives. Leading a small team and working closely with colleagues throughout the Global Network, the Head of Community Engagement is accountable for delivering experiences for Certified B Corporations that enable them to understand and derive value from their B Corp Certification, ensuring B Corps are champions of the movement, assist with building B Corp brand awareness, and help B Lab demonstrate a stronger case for economic change towards better business.
Key Responsibilities Lead and monitor B Lab AANZ's relationship management system across various customer segments.
Design and implement the community engagement strategy, supporting B Corps to adopt the new standards for B Corp Certification.
Develop a B Corp community health monitoring system, coordinating B Corp community research and customer feedback.
Identify and manage risks and act as the key contact point for senior leadership or major concerns.
Lead the events team to deliver value-adding community events and training, including various B Lab hosted and B Local volunteer led events and programs.
Work with the Experience Manager to design and build pathways and frameworks to support collective action for B Corps.
Work closely with Certification/Growth and Communications/Marketing functions to uphold recertification and retention rates.
Manage and develop the community engagement team and report on your progress.
About You You are known for your natural ability to build rapport quickly and put people at ease. Your calm, level-headed approach and genuine listening skills make you adept at navigating complex stakeholder relationships, while your organised and enthusiastic nature drives consistent delivery.
