The offal attendant / wastewater support is responsible for monitoring, cleaning, and sanitizing the offal processing area and minor maintenance of the wastewater system to ensure proper waste & water processing before discharge. This role is critical in preventing contamination and ensuring environmental compliance. The position involves hands‐on fieldwork, equipment monitoring, cleaning, and operational support within the offal and wastewater areas. The position partners with maintenance & reports to the 1st Processing supervisor w/ primary work schedule of M-F, 8-hrs. on 2nd shift, with flexibility to work early/ late shift, overtime, and weekends, as needed
Skills/Abilities/Attributes:
* Detailed-oriented; self-directed; able to safely multitask in fast‐paced environment and manage systems simultaneously.
* Basic mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, & problem‐solving skills to respond to emergencies / unexpected issues
* Team player; excellent listening & communication skills (English preferred); able to recall /follow detailed instructions
* High level of situational awareness and attention to safety
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
* Able to lift / move up to 50 lbs. when required; perform repetitive cleaning & operational tasks
* Work for heights to access elevated equipment; stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, stoop for extended periods
* Work safely in hot, cold, wet environment w/ varying temperatures (e.g., 35-40 / 100 degrees) & distinct odor
* Use required PPE including gloves, boots, eye protection, and other protective equipment as necessary.
