We are seeking an experienced and compassionate General Manager – Clinical and Operations to provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across our two highly regarded residential aged care homes – Good Shepherd Lodge and Kerrisdale Gardens in Mackay, QLD.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Manager – Clinical and Operations will:
• Deliver high-quality, person-centered care through strong clinical and operational leadership.
• Oversee and support Residential Facility Managers and their teams across two sites.
• Lead clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards.
• Drive strategic objectives, optimize service delivery, and manage performance across all areas.
• Promote a positive and accountable workplace culture that fosters learning, respect, and excellence.
• Represent Good Shepherd Lodge Ltd in stakeholder and community engagements.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic and operational leadership across two residential aged care homes.
• Oversight of clinical governance, safety systems, and regulatory compliance.
• Inspire and mentor leadership teams and support ongoing staff development.
• Manage budgets, financial performance, and resource planning.
• Champion service innovation, digital health, and continuous improvement.
• Build trusted relationships with residents, families, staff, and external partners.
Selection Criteria
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in aged care.
• Current AHPRA registration as a division 1 Registered Nurse.
• Tertiary qualifications in nursing, health management, or a related discipline.
• Deep understanding of aged care legislation, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Strong operational acumen, including budget and performance management.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive high-quality care outcomes.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to integrity, compassion, and person-centered care.
• Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, management, or aged care.
• Experience managing multiple aged care facilities or services.
• Familiarity with digital health systems and contemporary aged care reforms.
• A naturally warm and professional demeanor with a positive attitude.
• Compassionate, respectful, and committed to resident dignity and privacy.
