Trade Assistant Trainee

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Trade Assistant Trainee. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of tasks, including excavation, concrete works, fencing, paving, and vegetation management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining station and corridor presentation through graffiti removal, litter collection, and minor facility repairs. You will also participate in planned network shutdowns, working before the first and after the last train.
In addition, you will support rail maintenance activities through safe operation of tools, equipment, and vehicles. You will assist with track, platform and facility upgrades, and contribute to site setup, planning, and team coordination for daily tasks.
* Perform various labouring tasks, including excavation, concrete works, fencing, paving, and vegetation management.
* Maintain station and corridor presentation through graffiti removal, litter collection, and minor facility repairs.
* Participate in planned network shutdowns, working before the first and after the last train.
* Support rail maintenance activities through safe operation of tools, equipment, and vehicles.

Requirements:
* Experience in a maintenance, construction, or civil infrastructure environment.
* Hands-on skills in labouring roles, including the use of tools, plant, and equipment.
* Basic understanding of safety, quality, and environmental compliance in construction or maintenance settings.
* Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks to a high standard.
* Ability to work flexible hours including night shift and weekends.
* Experience in a rail/transport environment is highly desirable.
* Ability to pass a Rail Safety Worker Category 1 medical assessment.
