Kingston Resources Ltd is an ASX listed gold producer that is currently focusing on ongoing development of the Mineral Hill Gold Mine near Condobolin in NSW. We have 2 open cut pits and we're preparing for an exciting new underground mine.
The mine
Mineral Hill is fully owned by Kingston Resources Limited located approx. 65 km from Condobolin mining gold, silver and copper. We commenced open cut mining in 2024 that will conclude in mid-2026 when our underground is scheduled to deliver production ore.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Open Pit Mining Superintendent for an immediate start to join our small dynamic team to support the open cut mines through to completion.
About the role
As the Open Pit Mining Superintendent, you will oversee mining operations, including drill and blast, load and haul activities. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of mining and haulage operations to ensure an efficient and safe mining operation achieving and optimising production in line with short and medium term mine planning and identifying improvement opportunities for optimisation of all related activities.
Key responsibilities
* Leading by example in safety and environmental awareness maintaining quality standards through inspections and records
* Plan tasks in conjunction with the Open Cut Mining Engineer and Mining Manager
* Collaborate closely with Mine Planning, Geology, and Mobile Maintenance teams to drive operational improvements, improve fleet availability, and coordinate maintenance
* Conduct pre-shift crew briefings, motivating and empowering your team
* Implement strategies to maximise utilisation and minimise downtime.
* Generate shift plans that correctly assign resources to achieve productivity and cost targets
* Set clear accountabilities and priority tasks to ensure that they are effectively and efficiently managed
* Monitor and adjust schedules to meet goals, ensure compliance with industry regulations
* Coordinate and assist with the facilitation of information/training, performance monitoring, coaching and performance reviews
* Keeping accurate records of activities in accordance with established standards
About you
You're an experienced mining professional with a strong background in open cut operations, quarrying, or civil construction. You've led crews before, formally or in acting roles, and know how to get the best out of a team with mixed experience levels. You're motivated by operational efficiency, safety, and the chance to make a real impact.
You bring:
* 7+ years of heavy equipment experience and proven supervisory capability
* A current manual license plus other relevant licenses and tickets (Cert IV TAE is a bonus)
* Sound understanding of mine planning, mining engineering and geology
* Ability to analyse performance, costs, and efficiencies, identify savings, and implement controls without compromising safety or productivity
* Great interpersonal and communication skills
* You must have the right to live and work in Australia
