The Quality and Safety Division leads and supports the delivery of safe, effective, and person‑centred care across Central Queensland Health. Operating as a trusted business partner to all clinical delivery areas, the Division provides expert guidance, governance frameworks, and practical support to ensure care is delivered to the highest standards of quality and safety. Through close collaboration, it helps clinical teams translate data, evidence, and insights into meaningful improvement actions that enhance outcomes for patients, staff, and the organisation.
About the role
The Patient Safety Team leads best practice clinical incident management across the organisation, taking a Safety II approach that focuses on learning and continuous improvement. The team manages SAC1 incidents from reporting through investigation to recommendations development, oversees lower‑level clinical incidents, and provides expert advice, education, and support to senior leaders. Responsibilities include Open Disclosure processes, Clinical Incident Management, death review governance processes and reporting, coronial requests, Ryan's Rule governance and thematic analysis of incidents to identify trends and guide organisation‑wide improvements and relevant committee governance reporting.
About you
* Contribute to operational or business improvement projects, gather and analyse information, identify opportunities for improvement, implement changes under direction or independently.
* Act as a point of contact for the team on administrative matters, responding to queries and liaising with other departments or external parties. Collaborating closely with the manager and other senior staff to support business unit objectives.
* Design and implement administrative systems to ensure team problems and issues are identified and resolved, using an innovative and continuous quality improvement approach where appropriate. Escalating potential risks to manager if required.
* Research, analyse, and interpret complex data for the development of reports and recommendations for the Patient Safety team as required.
What we offer
Total remuneration value of up to $114,177 is comprised of:
* An hourly rate between $45.81 – $50.46 p.h.
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
