The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an EM ICN Project Finance Analyst to provide a critical role within DJCS Emergency Management
About The Business Unit
Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities delivered through Emergency Management Victoria, Emergency Recovery Victoria, Sector Performance and Reform and emergency management statutory entities and offices. The work of the group supports the emergency management sector to work together and to strengthen the capacity of individuals, communities, government, agencies and business to achieve our shared vision of safer and more resilient communities and to rebuild and recover after an emergency.
Responsibilities
EM Technology and Data is responsible for both national and state technology platforms that enable communications to and from the community, sector operational communications and sector information systems. The EM Technology business unit is responsible for delivering the following the key functions of:
* Strategy & Enterprise Architecture;
* Investment Planning;
* Support & Development;
* Procurement & Program Delivery;
* Vendor & Contract Management;
About The Role
Some of your duties will include:
* Financial planning process for the Emergency Technology and Data unit
* Ensure financial management policy and processes are implemented in accordance with Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) standards and guidelines and portfolio budget parameters.
* Provide financial advice to the Commercial Lead of Information Warning and Systems Program and assist with subject matter expertise to address business unit and portfolio budget outcomes.
* Maintain appropriate working relationships with other business units to assist with the development and implementation of portfolio and departmental initiatives.
* Develop reports in accordance with business unit budget requirements including any trusts

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Knowledge of budget development and financial management services and advice for a government entity or department.
* Knowledge of public sector management, accrual budgeting, balance sheet management, output pricing and costing.
Qualifications/requirements
* An appropriate tertiary qualification in accounting, economics, commerce, or related field is highly desirable.
