About the role
Motoryachts Australasia is looking for a full-time Shipwright to join our team in North Fremantle, WA. As a Shipwright, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the maintaining and repairing of our fleet of luxury motor yachts, and clients boats that come through our service centre. This is a hands-on role that requires a high level of technical expertise and a passion for marine engineering.
What you'll be doing
1. Performing regular maintenance and inspections on our motor yachts to identify and address any issues
2. Overseeing and/or carrying out repairs and modifications to the hull, deck, and other structural components of the yachts
3. Overseeing and/or assisting with the servicing of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on the vessels
4. Managing all warranty work
5. Liaise with contractors and suppliers
6. Organize outside services
7. Organising vessel pre-delivery inspections, and cosmetic maintenance
8. Arranging North Port bookings for boat lifts etc.
9. ADHOC duties to assist with the smooth operation of the CompanyCollaborating with the team to develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules
10. Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality
11. Providing excellent customer service to our clients by addressing any concerns or issues promptly
What we're looking for
1. Proven experience as a Shipwright, with a strong understanding of marine engineering and construction techniques
2. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues
3. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialised marine equipment
4. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
6. Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Marine Craft Construction or equivalent
