As a Technical Writer you will be part of a team of Writers and all-rounders working on delivering and implementing our new "Knowledge Hub". Project Oracle is an organisation-wide Technology-led initiative to deliver Auto & General's "Knowledge Hub". The Knowledge Hub will contain A&G's insurance product and core operational content and documentation.
It will utilise Confluence as the central navigational tool and content storage repository, and link to other approved applications and tools for key content not suitable for Confluence. At the completion of the project the Technology Technical Writing team will continue to maintain the framework, workflows and work with the business to ensure that we have meaningful and to the point content for all users.
You will need to work closely with SMEs and end-to-end teams across the business to help improve documentation quality, and relevance.
Additionally, you will consolidate existing documentation, produce fresh content, and ensure quality standards are adhered to moving forward.
Your New Team
You'll be part of a collaborative and focused technology team working on major transformation projects. The team is passionate about high-quality documentation and values clear communication, consistency and efficiency. You'll contribute to shaping documentation standards across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Organise, review, and improve existing documentation
* Develop templates for guides, runbooks and technical documents
* Create new technical content in collaboration with subject matter experts
* Ensure adherence to documentation review and publishing processes
* Guide teams on content best practices
* Manage and maintain content within Confluence and Google Docs
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in technical writing or a closely related field
* Strong knowledge of Confluence, Jira and Google Docs
* Ability to translate complex technical language into clear, concise documentation
* Skilled in working with subject matter experts to extract and structure technical content
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience developing internal templates and content structures
* Comfortable working independently and managing competing deadlines
