The Role
ALS Environmental Newcastle is seeking a full-time Soil Lab Technician for our dedicated soil team.
The role will be Tuesday to Saturday, 7 AM – 3:15 PM with some flexibility.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Preparation and analysis of soil samples
Ensuring that preparation and analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions
Completing all tasks within both the timeframe set by the supervisor and the relevant analysis standard
Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviour
Some weekend work is required
The Essentials
A genuine interest in the science industry
Either TAFE or university qualifications desirable but not essential
A desire to work in a high-throughput, client-focused environment, with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experience
Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time-management skills
Dedication to good laboratory practices with regard to quality of results and health and safety
Flexibility to work varied shifts to cover operational hours
Willingness to be cross-trained in other sections of the laboratory
