Within our Data Platforms (DP) division at Westpac, we deliver the technology that powers customer servicing, credit assessment, and product origination across digital and staff‑enabled channels. As a Senior Project Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in turning strategy into delivery—leading complex initiatives and empowering teams to do their best work.
Importantly, this role is critical to the success of a multi-year programme aimed at transforming Global Transactional Services (GTS) into a modern, profitable digital transaction bank.
About the role …
You'll work at the intersection of business and technology, leading with clarity, collaboration, and care.
Your day to day will include:
* Partnering with business and technology leaders to define scope, outcomes, and delivery approach.
* Owning delivery roadmaps, plans, budgets, and reporting with transparency and accountability.
* Proactively managing risks, dependencies, and change management initiatives.
* Leading and supporting two cross‑functional delivery squads to achieve agreed outcomes.
* Coaching and mentoring team members, creating inclusive, high‑performing teams.
* Working closely with engineering and architecture teams to resolve issues and deliver quality solutions.
* Driving continuous improvement through post‑implementation reviews and shared learning.
Key ingredients for success …
We're looking to hear from highly experienced delivery leaders who value teamwork, inclusion, and outcomes.
You'll ideally bring to the table:
* Minimum 5 years' hands-on Senior PM experience delivering innovative and robust technology initiatives with a data platforms specialisation at scale.
* Strong project delivery governance, financial management, and execution discipline.
* Able to highlight key achievements where you have been the primary lead on successful project outcomes.
* Deep experience working across Agile and adaptive delivery environments.
* The ability to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Strong collaboration, communication, and influencing skills.
* Advanced working knowledge and SME of tools such as Jira and Confluence as well as ability to lead by example within Agile ceremonies.
* The confidence to communicate technical context to a range of audiences.
* A continuous improvement mindset and a commitment to shared success.
* Banking or financial services experience is highly advantageous.
* Experience with Siebel and DevOps and end‑to‑end solution ownership.
* Project management certifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2).
