The Role
Technical Sales Engineer – engage with technical and project teams to drive profitable business in Australia’s Industrial Refrigeration and HVAC market.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect, identify, and develop recent opportunities within the Australian IR & HP market, achieving designated sales targets.
- Maintain field intelligence on competitors and develop strategies to ensure the IR business unit excels.
- Own sales planning, strategy, and activity aligned with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with technical and project teams to develop designs, costings, and proposals for sales opportunities.
- Use selection software to optimize major equipment selections during concept design.
- Liaise with key suppliers and subcontractors for equipment and systems pricing.
- Implement collaboratively developed short and long‑term sales plans and prepare strategies to reach nominated targets.
- Deliver assigned sales plan in terms of secured sales volume and gross margin.
- Manage all elements of Salesforce, legal review, and bid management during the sales process.
- Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and adherence to Johnson Controls Ethics and Safety Policies.

Qualifications
- Industrial Refrigeration experience with products, design, and solution sales.
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering or related field desirable.
- 3+ years of relevant sales experience.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and accountability.
- Strong negotiating skills, capable of achieving win‑win solutions.
- Motivated team player able to develop internal and external relationships.
- Influential at all organisational levels, building credibility quickly with senior managers and decision makers.
