Our award-winning stores provide quality pharmaceutical and health care services to their clients. Our Support Office (CCSO) provides support to the wider group including professional advisory, retail support, bookkeeping and payroll, accounting, IT and a range of business administration services.
Role Purpose
The Retail Operations Manager is responsible for driving retail performance, supplier engagement, and consistent execution of commercial and operational initiatives across our group of pharmacies. Working closely with pharmacy owners and managers, the Retail Operations Manager ensures alignment between business strategy, supplier arrangements, and exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Key accountabilities include:
• Managing supplier relationships, negotiations, and buying arrangements to optimise group outcomes
• Calculating, coordinating, and gaining store agreement for Group Buys and promotions
• Negotiating and executing quarterly catalogues, including buying terms and pricing structures
• Planning and delivering temporary price reductions to drive sales and margin performance
• Analysis of point-of-sale data and providing insights to support decision-making and performance improvement
• Supporting and encouraging operational and promotional compliance across all stores
• Implementation and monitoring of standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency
• Coaching and development of pharmacy partners/managers and retail teams to build commercial capability and accountability
• Change management and project implementation - leading or supporting rollouts of new systems, technologies, or initiatives (e.g., POS upgrades, new store formats, products).
Experience/Knowledge Required
• Proven experience in multi-site retail or pharmacy operations management
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
• Experience in sales execution, sales strategies and sales training
• Commercial acumen with experience in pricing, promotions, and sales performance analysis
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and support store teams
• Sound understanding of pharmacy retail operations, systems, and compliance requirements
