The post offers the opportunity to conduct laboratory-based research focusing on detection techniques for neglected tropical diseases and other infectious diseases.
As part of this role, you will contribute to studies assessing NTD burden in endemic countries and evaluating disease control strategies. This includes participation in epidemiological studies and sample collection for laboratory analysis.
You will perform key laboratory tasks such as serological analysis, DNA extraction, and PCR-based diagnostics. Additionally, you will support data management, statistical analysis, and dissemination of findings.
 * A PhD in biomedical sciences, epidemiology, public health, biostatistics or a similar relevant field is required.
 * Prior experience in molecular and cell biology with a focus on infectious diseases is essential, including development and conduct of qPCR, ELISAs, multi-bead serological assays, and microscopy.
 * Excellent skills in data and specimen management and quantitative analysis using statistical packages (e.g., SAS, Stata) are expected.
 * Proven ability to stay up-to-date with industry knowledge and developments is necessary.
 * Demonstrated experience in writing and publishing peer-reviewed journal articles and/or reports for non-expert stakeholders is desirable.
