This is a permanent full-time position based in either Sydney or Newcastle. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, WFH IT equipment and a reimbursement of up to $500 for additional equipment.

About the role
The Legal Assistant will support the Statutory Insurance NSW/ACT – Workers' Compensation team. Responsibilities include:
General file maintenance, including regular filing, opening and closing files
Telephone handling for the team, answering all incoming calls
Drafting court documents and compiling briefs
Coordinating all outgoing mail to be signed, compiled and delivered
Providing support to other legal assistants
Maintaining partners/lawyers' contacts in the firm CRM InterAction, assisting with list management for events and communications
Other administration duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum two years of legal assistant experience
Experience in a workers' compensation practice is desirable
Highly organised and strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Ability to prioritise and perform to deadlines
Reliable, punctual, flexible and able to demonstrate initiative
Experience with legal billing systems and client management programmes (eg. Aderant desirable but not required)
Experience with document management systems (eg iManage10 desirable but not required)
