Psychosocial Intervention Specialist

The Medicare Mental Health Services are free and readily available. Our specialists offer a supportive environment for individuals experiencing psychological distress, helping them navigate their challenges effectively.

Our services encompass:

* Providing guidance from experienced mental health professionals within the community
* Accessibility without requiring an appointment or referral

* A permanent, part-time (0.5 FTE) position is available in Burnie, TAS
* Paying above HPSS Level 3 salary scale

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver quality psychosocial assessment, low-intensity brief intervention treatment, and evaluation
* Brief Intervention Model of care; up to 6 sessions for mild-moderate, short-term, goal-oriented focused psychological therapy and generalist counselling
* Participate as a member of the clinical team in providing comprehensive mental health assessments, case coordination, intervention, or group work as required

Requirements:

* Must have one of the following: General or Provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist OR Mental Health Nurse OR AASW registration as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
* Demonstrated comprehensive level of knowledge, expertise, and skill; specifically, Brief Intervention Models of Care
* Well-developed judgment and evaluation skills demonstrating working understanding assessment and care planning
* Sound understanding of the public, non-government and private mental health systems and programs and associated non-mental health programs in a community setting
