The Organisation
The University of Wollongong (UOW) is a globally recognised institution renowned for academic excellence, impactful research, and deep community engagement. With students from more than 130 countries and an extensive international partner network and five offshore campuses, UOW is both globally connected and regionally anchored, playing a pivotal role in the economic and social development of the Illawarra region.
UOW has completed strategic transformations in 2025, responding to a rapidly evolving higher education landscape with a strong focus on sustainability, global engagement, innovation, and reputation.
The University is now seeking a Deputy Vice-Chancellor/Vice-President (Growth & Global) (DVC GG) to lead the next phase of growth and global partnerships to help deliver our strategical goals in Vision 2035 and Strategic Plan 2030.
The Role
The DVC GG is a newly established, externally focused senior executive role created following the launch of Vision 2035. The role is central to shaping UOW’s global positioning and long‑term sustainability.
As a key member of the University Executive, the DVC GG provides strategic and operational leadership across student growth, global recruitment, engagement and partnerships, marketing and brand, advancement, and philanthropy.
The role drives domestic and international student growth, strengthens UOW’s reputation as a university of choice, builds enduring partnerships, and advances philanthropic support aligned to institutional priorities.
This is a high-impact leadership role with broad influence across government, industry, alumni, donors, and international partners.
The Person
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership in higher education or a comparable commercial or international context, with demonstrated success in driving international recruitment, market growth, marketing, and stakeholder engagement at scale. Experience in advancement is considered advantageous but not essential given the current focus on rebuilding recruitment performance.
An outstanding communicator with executive presence, you will demonstrate a genuine commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Candidates may come from academic leadership or professional executive backgrounds, particularly those with senior global partnership, recruitment, or international education experience.
