Network Engineer - Secure Network Services
We are seeking a Network Engineer to join the Secure Network Services (SNS) team within our Technology division. This role is responsible for delivering standardised services in alignment with established procedures and the automated service delivery framework, and collaborating closely with SNS Tooling support and build/run teams.
Responsibilities include:
Providing essential technical support to facilitate delivery of catalogue services, ensuring compliance with pre-defined SLAs and KPIs.
Understanding service definitions, including scope and limitations.
Engaging with stakeholders to confirm requirements and recommend appropriate networking solutions that translate user needs into infrastructure specifications.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
At least 5 years supporting complex networks within large organisations.
Relevant vendor certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, or F*****.
Comprehensive expertise in Switching and Routing (BGP/OSPF, VXLAN, VTP), Firewalls (Juniper SRX, Fortigate, NSX), Load Balancing (F5 – LTM, GTM, APM, ASM), Crypto PKI, and DNS.
Solid understanding of cloud networking environments, including Azure and AWS.
Advanced analytical skills with demonstrated hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving network issues.
Proven background in developing automation solutions that interface with tools and platforms via APIs or scripting.
Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting tasks.
Practical experience using Ansible, and CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
Additional vendor certification such as CCNP or F*****.
Knowledge of WAN technologies, including SD-WAN and MPLS.
Understanding of automation platforms and orchestration tools.
Familiarity with ITIL processes—especially change management—and ServiceNow.
Experience with MongoDB, Jenkins, Terraform, SolarWinds, and Elastic.
Demonstrated success in collaborative team settings and delivery roles, encompassing planning, implementation, change management, configuration, and build activities.
