Who You are
The position of Property Maintenance Officer is a hands-on role and will report to, and work with the Village Manager to ensure a customer focused maintenance service is provided. This role will require a high degree of accountability, autonomy, flexibility and a positive approach to the key responsibilities. If you are someone who is organised and solutions-focused and you take pride in, this is the position for you.
The role is full-time and is based at Fullarton from Monday to Friday 7.30am – 3.30pm. Experience in a similar role is preferable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform ad-hoc, preventative and programmed repairs and maintenance to the property, buildings and plant and machinery in the village including:
* Minor handyman repairs
* General plumbing
* Painting
* Preventative maintenance work.
* General gardening maintenance including:
* Operating powered gardening equipment to prune and hedge
* Raking up leaves and emptying out bins
* Planting and weeding
* Installing and maintaining drainage and irrigation systems
* Mulching and re-planting gardens as required.
* Drive residents on external excursions using the village bus (12-seater).
This role will suit someone who is:
* Experienced in property maintenance and who can work individually or within a team environment, ensuring that safe work practices are always maintained.
* Responsible, reliable, and punctual and who can communicate confidently and respectfully with our residents, visitors, staff and external service providers.
* Able to communicate and demonstrate a positive and friendly attitude towards our residents, visitors, staff and external service providers.
* Possess sound relationship management and excellent organisational skills with a broad experience in a range of trades.
Criteria
* Minimum 3 years relevant experience in repairs, maintenance, with customer service.
* The ability to work in a team and on your own along with flexibility with attitude and approach to responsibilities.
* Excellent time management skills and the ability to follow the task through to completion.
* Able to co-ordinate, assist with and supervise trades people when required.
* Understanding of and commitment to WHS requirements.
* Great verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent customer service and working with older people.
Mandatory
* Satisfactorily complete a national police check.
* Be willing to undertake a Senior First Aid course.
* Possess a current and valid Australian driver's license.
