We're on the hunt for a Paid Media Specialist who gets a genuine kick out of making campaigns perform. You'll take ownership of client accounts across Google Ads (Search, Display, YouTube, Performance Max, and AI Max) and Microsoft Ads. Combining sharp analytical thinking with creative problem-solving to deliver campaigns that drive real, measurable growth for Australian small businesses.
Reporting to the Head of Digital Marketing, you'll have a real say in how we approach paid media, from campaign architecture and keyword strategy through to ad copy, creative testing, and ongoing optimisation. You'll also get involved in paid social campaigns, teaming up with our social media specialists to make sure everything works together across channels.
This is a hands on role in a well established agency (we've been at it for over 20 years) where your work has a direct impact on client success. If you light up when a campaign smashes its targets and you'd rather dig into the data than guess, we should talk.
What You'll Do
* Own paid media strategy: Develop, execute, and refine data-driven campaigns across Search, Display, YouTube, Demand Gen, and Performance Max that actually move the needle for a portfolio of SMB clients.
* Manage budgets with precision: Allocate and optimise client budgets so every dollar punches above its weight.
* Master the detail: Dig into keyword research, audience segmentation, bid strategies, and conversion rate optimisation (the nerdy stuff that makes the difference).
* Turn data into action: Live in Google Ads, GA4, Adalysis, SEMrush, and other tools to find the insights that drive smarter optimisation decisions.
* Write copy that converts: Write ad copy that people actually click on, and team up with our designers and content team to produce creative that performs.
* Think cross-channel: Connect the dots between paid media and our SEO, organic social, email, and landing page work so clients get a cohesive cross channel strategy, not siloed campaigns.
* Support paid social campaigns: Jump into paid social activity across Meta and other platforms, working with our social team to make sure client campaigns are firing on all cylinders.
* Stay ahead of the curve: Geek out on Google Ads updates. AI Max, Performance Max changes, new ad formats, automation features and bring those insights back to the team and our clients.
What You Bring
Must-haves:
* 4+ years' hands‐on experience managing Google Ads and PPC campaigns, ideally within an agency environment.
* Strong working knowledge of Search, Display, YouTube, Demand Gen, Performance Max, and AI Max for Search campaign types.
* Solid experience with conversion tracking setup, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and GA4 event configuration. You must understand the full measurement pipeline from click to conversion.
* Proven ability to manage multi client budgets and deliver measurable performance growth.
* Sharp ad copywriting skills: you can write a headline that stops the scroll and a description that seals the deal.
* You're comfortable in the data and can interpret complex performance metrics and turn them into clear, actionable recommendations (not just more spreadsheets).
* A strong communicator who's just as comfortable presenting to clients as you are collaborating with the team over a coffee.
* Sound understanding of data-driven attribution and how it informs bidding strategies, budget allocation, and cross-channel performance analysis.
Nice-to-haves:
* Experience with Microsoft Ads (Bing Ads).
* Google Ads certifications (Search, Display, Video, or Shopping).
