About Our Care Support Role
As a care support worker, you will be responsible for providing personal and social support to individuals in their own homes.
Main Responsibilities:
* Personal Care: Providing assistance with daily living activities such as showering, dressing, grooming, and medication management.
* Social Support: Facilitating social interactions, including transportation to appointments and social events, as well as supporting clients with grocery shopping and other errands.
* Domestic Assistance: Performing light household cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
* Complex Needs Support: Working with clients who have complex needs or challenging behaviors, requiring patience, understanding, and effective communication skills.
* Monitoring Progress: Regularly assessing client well-being and reporting any concerns or progress to the relevant authorities.
Your Skills and Qualifications
* Experience: Proven experience working in disability or aged care community support roles.
* Caring Nature: Possessing a caring, compassionate, friendly, and reliable approach to work.
* Strong Communication: Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish effective working relationships.
What You'll Need
* NDIS Clearance: Holding current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
* First Aid Certification: Possessing current First Aid certification and CPR training.
* Driver's License: Holding a current Open Class Australian Driver's License.
* Reliable Vehicle: Owning a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
* Smartphone: Having access to a smartphone with internet connectivity.
* Certification: Holding Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Home & Community Care, Individual Support, or Disability Services (Desirable).
