About the opportunity:
As our Retail Customer Service Officer, you'll play an important part in helping Australians service their own businesses, keeping millions of people connected and building community resilience. Every year, around one million customers visit our Australia Post Offices. Our retail teams ensure each experience is positive. You'll be supported by a welcoming team, ongoing training, and career development opportunities.
* Loaded casual rate $33.66/hour, increasing to $35.98/hour after 3 months, + 12% Superannuation
* Extensive, supportive training (up to 12 weeks) on commencement
* Casual Position | 'On Call' after training, with a mix of scheduled and unscheduled shifts, Monday to Friday, between 8:45 am and 5:06 pm
* Relief team members will work at various Post Offices within the area, including Launceston, Kings Meadows, Mowbray Heights, Deloraine & Georgetown.
Responsibilities include:
* Performing customer sales and service transactions
* Handling high-value transactions accurately (cash, cheques, credit cards, EFTPOS)
* Conducting identity services transactions, including Australian Passport Interviews
* Promoting products and services through up-selling, cross-selling, and promotional activities
* Assisting with mail lodgements and associated costs
* Building relationships with customers by understanding their needs
* Assisting with administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance
About you:
* Friendly, enthusiastic, reliable, and team-oriented
* Customer-focused attitude to make a positive community impact
* Experience in customer service and/or cash handling
* Ability to lift up to 16kg of mail regularly and stand for shifts
