The National Gallery is seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resource (HR) professional to lead the People Services function within our HR team. This role offers the chance to manage a broad range of HR services across the employee lifecycle, while shaping the Gallery's culture and future workforce. As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in delivering people-focused solutions and providing advice that supports our vision of being a world-leading cultural institution.
Our ideal candidate will be an HR practitioner with strong operational experience in managing HR functions such as recruitment, payroll, WHS, case management, and HR policy implementation. You will be confident in applying legislation and policies to ensure compliance and accuracy in HR service delivery.

The key duties of the position include
In accordance with the APS Executive Level 1 work level standards, you will:
Lead the delivery of HR operations, ensuring high-quality, efficient and compliant services.
Provide practical, solutions-focused advice across recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, payroll, WHS (including case management and rehabilitation), and HR policy and processes.
Support the implementation of HR system and process improvements.
Provide accurate advice and reporting to managers, senior staff and Council.
Lead, coach and support members of the People Services team.
