Operational Risk Manager - Enterprise Resilience Specialist
The role of Operational Risk Manager is a critical position within our organization, requiring a seasoned professional to lead the way in enterprise resilience and risk management. As an Operational Risk Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational resilience, ensuring our risk practices evolve alongside our ambitious growth.
This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of risk management in our dynamic investment platform business. You will take ownership of risk management within the business unit, overseeing incidents, audits, and business continuity compliance while championing a proactive risk culture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage operational risks by maintaining a robust risk management framework and ensuring policy compliance with regulatory standards.
* Lead the GS007 assurance process by liaising with auditors, documenting controls, and addressing audit findings to ensure compliance.
* Oversee incident management processes, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and monitoring trends to prevent recurrences.
* Maintain and regularly test the Business Continuity Plan to ensure operational readiness and resilience during disruptions.
* Conduct risk-based reviews of business and technology changes to evaluate compliance and mitigate potential risks.
* Collaborate with internal teams, auditors, and regulators to embed risk ownership and align risk management activities across the organization.
Requirements:
* 5+ years of experience in operational risk management or related roles within financial services, with a focus on investment platforms preferable.
* Demonstrated experience managing GS007 audits or similar audits and operational risk frameworks.
* Proven track record of managing incidents and leading root cause analysis and remediation.
* Familiarity with business continuity frameworks and disaster recovery planning.
* Strong understanding of Australian regulatory requirements, including APRA, ASIC, and relevant financial services standards.
* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
