About The Role
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH), established in 1882, is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital providing specialist healthcare. It is renowned nationally and internationally for serving diverse community needs.
The Aboriginal Community Mental Health Unit Manager oversees an integrated, multidisciplinary, recovery-oriented Aboriginal mental health team. Responsibilities include access and discharge procedures, rostering, and strategic planning.
The Community Mental Health Service is committed to delivering high-quality mental health services through research and innovation, setting standards for others to follow. We focus on clinical excellence, research, teaching, training, and developing staff skills via programs like the Diploma of Mental Health.

Ideal Candidate
* This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent, identify as such, and be accepted by their community. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and have established community links.
* Relevant tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in health service management or current registration with AHPRA as a nurse, with management experience in human resources, finance, and resource management.
* Extensive experience in community mental health, including managing consumers with significant mental health issues and disabilities, and familiarity with legislation such as the Mental Health Act.
