The Opportunity Morgans is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Brisbane team, providing trusted legal advice to the Board, executives and senior management across a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters. What you will be doing In this role, you will: Advise on legal, regulatory and commercial matters, including financial services regulation and ASIC/ASX obligations Manage complaints, claims and disputes, liaising with advisers, clients, insurers and external lawyers Draft, review and advise on contracts and commercial arrangements Provide guidance on privacy obligations and company policy development Support the Company Secretary with governance documentation and Board papers What you will bring You are a capable and commercially minded legal professional who brings: Admission as a solicitor in an Australian jurisdiction Experience in private practice and/or an in-house legal role, ideally in financial service Strong knowledge of financial services regulation and key legislative frameworks including ASIC and ASX Experience with complaints handling and external dispute resolution Clear, practical drafting and communication skills for senior stakeholders About Morgans Morgans is Australia’s most respected full-service stockbroking and wealth management network providing a range of wealth management, investment advice and corporate finance services.
