The role
Due to continued growth, we have multiple Boilermaker/Welder positions available on the afternoon shift at our Moorabbin workshop. This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who takes pride in high‐quality workmanship, can confidently interpret engineering drawings, and enjoys working in a fast‐paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, weld symbols, specifications and work instructions.
- Perform general fabrication and welding activities to required production and quality standards.
- Set up weldments, tooling and fixturing to meet component and project requirements.
- Conduct quality inspections, dimensional checks, and rework/repairs where required.
- Safely operate welding and fabrication equipment, selecting appropriate tools for each task.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment, ensuring equipment and tooling are properly maintained.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support a positive team culture through knowledge sharing, mentoring and adherence to health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Qualifications
- Trade qualified with proficiency in MIG welding and TIG (advantageous).
- Ability to read and interpret drawings correctly.
- Great reliability and time management.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Fabrication experience from 3 mm to 25 mm.
- Attention to detail with high quality of workmanship.
- Experience with or willingness to learn welding codes and standards.
- Ability to work with supervisors, engineers, inspectors and coordinators.
- Experience with record keeping.
- Maintain production timelines and quality.
- Good attitude and strong communication skills.
- Overhead gantry crane high‐risk licence advantageous.
- Must pass a weld test at interview.
Additional Requirements
All applicants may be required to hold Australian citizenship and meet ITAR and/or EAR compliance as part of employment eligibility.
Successful applicants may also be required to undergo a current police check, obtain a Commonwealth defence security clearance, and participate in random drug and alcohol screening.
