About the Role
Auspiced by Primary Care Connect within the Orange Door network, the Practitioner – Adults Using Family Violence (AUFV) will provide triage, screening, assessment, and short‑term responses to incoming referrals for AUFV, keeping them in view and accountable for their actions and behaviour while contributing to integrated safety planning for victim‑survivors. Working within a multi‑disciplinary team at Orange Door, the practitioner ensures risk is identified, assessed, and managed in line with the Multi‑Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework, and that information sharing is conducted in accordance with legislation.
The Orange Door was established as a key recommendation of the Royal Commission into Family Violence and provides a way for people experiencing family violence, and families who need assistance with the care and wellbeing of children, to access the services they need to be safe and supported. The Orange Door is also intended to hold AUFV to account by planning interventions to address the risk they pose and challenge their controlling, violent and abusive behaviour.
This position reports to the PCC Home Agency Manager via the Team Leader – AUFV. A matrix management model applies within The Orange Door, with an Integrated Team Leader overseeing the position on a day‑to‑day basis. Practitioners participate in regular team rotations as directed by partner organisations to ensure balanced caseloads, maintain service coverage, and support practitioner capability development across the integrated service model.
The position also works within the larger Orange Door Team and Primary Care Connect teams, network with external organisations, and contributes to the overall safety and wellbeing of the community.
