Job Description: Actively participate in a Professional Learning Team (PLT), engaging in a collaborative cycle of learning that includes identifying student needs through formative and summative assessment, planning and co-designing targeted teaching strategies, implementing evidence-based practice, and evaluating impact on student outcomes. Plan, co-teach, and assess Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) lessons for Years 7–10, aligned with the Australian Curriculum. Lessons are driven by inquiry-based learning approaches that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and active student engagement. Units incorporate cross-curricular priorities and foster a culturally responsive classroom that values and affirms the diverse backgrounds of all students. Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles guide this process to ensure all students have equitable access to learning. Develop and implement inclusive teaching practices that address learner variability. This includes differentiated instruction, targeted scaffolding, and reasonable adjustments to support students with disabilities, students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and those with varying levels of literacy and numeracy. Apply trauma-informed positive education strategies to create a predictable, emotionally safe classroom environment. These consistent predictable routines support student wellbeing, build connection and trust, and contribute to sustained academic and personal growth. Case manage students in a CREW (Connection, Relationships, Engagement and Wellbeing) class by developing and monitoring Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) in partnership with students, families, and relevant school support staff. This includes setting personalised goals, tracking progress, coordinating classroom adjustments, and maintaining consistent, strengths-based communication with all stakeholders to support each student’s academic, social, and emotional development.
