About the role
We’re currently seeking a Session Leader to join our team at the Canberra Civic Plasma & Canberra Mobile Donor Centres. Reporting to the Donor Centre Manager, you’ll provide operational oversight and leadership to ensure that the end-to-end donation experience runs efficiently with no compromise on quality or safety.
As a Session Leader, you’ll provide direction, inspiration and support for your team to achieve common goals and foster team effectiveness, as well as managing tough issues with respect. You’ll value self-awareness and reflect on your own strengths and areas for development, making you an even stronger leader.
**A day in the centre will see you**:
Develop, coach and lead a diverse team
Supporting the Donor Centre Manager with the day to day operations of the Donor & Mobile Donor Centres
Deliver a supportive and safe experience to our amazing donor
Physically insert and remove needles to collect donations
Act as the first point of contact for any complex donor assessments
Provide oversight to team to ensure phlebotomy success
Show pride in upholding our high safety and quality standards

Demonstrated leadership and coaching abilities
Ability to prioritise and deliver the required supply of blood and blood products in line with demand
Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build a warm connection with donors

Digital and technical aptitude
Availability & flexibility to travel and work across a rotating roster with varied shifts and shift length (4 to 10 hours) across the Donor Centre opening times
