Supporting Children and Young People
This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated Youth Support Worker to join our team in Canberra. As part of a casual workforce, you will be working with children and young people to achieve their goals and maintain a positive impact in their lives.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to provide responsive and flexible services. They must also have a passion for supporting vulnerable populations and be committed to delivering trauma-informed service delivery.
You will be responsible for promoting self-determination and cultural identity among the children and young people in your care. This will involve supporting them to understand and achieve their plans, including their needs, personal goals, and outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you will require a Certificate IV in Disability or Community Services, as well as relevant certifications such as a valid driver's license and First Aid Certificate. You will also need to hold a current and valid Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) / Working with Children Registration.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support children and young people to understand and achieve their plans.

* Assist with daily activities in line with a child or young person's plan.
* Actively support children and young people to achieve their daily goals.
* Work within relevant frameworks to ensure trauma-informed service delivery.
* Facilitate engagement with children and young people within the community.
* Complete daily case notes, admin tasks, and incident reports.
