About the Role
The Koorie Families as First Educators (KFFE) Program is a child-centred and family-focused initiative designed to strengthen the parenting capacity of families with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 0–5 years .
As the Balert Gerrbik Koorie Families as First Educator Practitioner, you will work closelywith families to support early learning, wellbeing, cultural connection, and access to essential services. You will build strong, trusting relationships with parents and caregivers, helping them create positive foundations for their children's development.
About You - Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
Qualifications and Registrations
* No formal qualifications required.
* Preferred: Certificate IV in Community Services or a related field.
Knowledge and Skills
* Strong understanding of the issuesaffecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities.
* Ability to engage and communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a culturally respectful manner.
* Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding personal information.
* Capacity to manage and maintain a client caseload with professionalism and reliability.
* Understanding of key service systems, including:
* Department of Education and Training (DET)
* Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH)
* Ability to proudly represent Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative in a professional and culturally respectful way.
* Strong organisational skills, time management, and the ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

* Competitive pay and conditions based on the SCHADS Award – Level 2 Pay Point 1 – 4 based on experience and qualifications.
