As a Senior Associate – Operations Delivery Strategy, you will support the analytical and problem‐solving work that drives Jetstar's strategic improvement agenda. Reporting to the Manager, you will conduct structured research, build evidence‐based business cases and contribute to the end‐to‐end delivery of initiatives that address operational challenges and lift performance.
Working within a small internal consulting team, you will apply rigorous analysis, Lean Six Sigma methods and creative problem solving to help close performance gaps and unlock efficiencies. You will support technology‐enabled initiatives that use decision science, analytics and optimisation tools, contributing structured analysis and insights to make better operational decisions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems and wants to help shape how Jetstar delivers safe, reliable and efficient outcomes.
In this role you will:
* Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, competitors and operational insights to inform Operations Delivery strategy.
* Gather inputs from stakeholders and frontline teams to identify pain points and opportunities that shape strategic priorities.
* Support strategic initiatives through structured analysis and business‐case development, translating data into clear, actionable recommendations.
* Support option analysis and trade‐off assessment for initiatives that leverage technology, analytics and AI to improve operational decision‐making.
* Co‐design and validate improvement solutions, supporting delivery coordination and escalating risks and interdependencies as needed.
* Contribute to vendor assessments and build‐vs‐buy analysis to support delivery model decisions aligned with technology standards.
* Support change management and benefits tracking by preparing communications and monitoring post‐implementation results.
* Strengthen team capability by maintaining templates and tools, building your own consulting skills and contributing to consistent team communication.
You'll bring:
* A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, Data, Operations Research, Aviation or similar, with Lean Six Sigma or postgraduate studies desirable.
* 2–5 years' experience in consulting, strategy, operational improvement or business analysis with strong analytical delivery capability.
* Strong structured problem‐solving skills, including root‐cause analysis and contributing to business cases and solution design.
* Experience supporting cross‐functional projects, with exposure to project management fundamentals or vendor evaluation a bonus.
* Solid analytical skills, ideally with experience working with datasets using tools like Python, SQL or R to support analysis and insights.
* Clear communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to present insights simply and build strong working relationships.
* A curious, commercial and resourceful mindset, comfortable working through ambiguity and translating problems into structured analysis plans.
