Who are IBAC:
The Independent Broad-based Anti-Corruption Commission (IBAC) is Victoria's lead agency for preventing and exposing public sector corruption and police misconduct. IBAC plays a vital role in supporting integrity, transparency and accountability across Victoria's public institutions, including government departments, local councils, Victoria Police, Parliament and the judiciary.
The position:
IBAC is seeking a highly accomplished and astute strategic leader to join the Office of the CEO in the role of Senior Strategic Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer.
This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned professional to play a central role in shaping the strategic agenda of a critical integrity agency. As a trusted advisor to the CEO and the broader Executive team, you will provide thought leadership on public sector reform, interagency collaboration, and integrity system alignment. Your influence will extend across government, supporting IBAC's mission to uphold the highest standards of ethical public service.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Provide high-level, expert strategic advice to the CEO on organisational direction, sector-wide reform, and emerging policy issues.
* Represent the CEO in intergovernmental forums, strategic working groups, and cross-sector initiatives.
* Lead and coordinate sensitive and complex projects of strategic importance, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and public expectations.
* Partner closely with the Commissioner and Executive Team on integrity priorities and multi-agency collaboration.
About You:
This role will suit an experienced strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. You will bring exceptional organisational acumen, a deep understanding of government operations, and the confidence to engage credibly with senior stakeholders and decision-makers across the Victorian public sector.
* Proven experience advising senior executives or Ministers within government, integrity, or statutory agency environments, you have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong project leadership capabilities, particularly in multi-disciplinary or high-sensitivity environments with exceptional verbal and written communication.
* An inclusive and collaborative leadership style, with the capacity to influence across diverse stakeholder groups and lead projects, particularly in multi-disciplinary or highly sensitive environments
* High personal integrity and an unwavering commitment to the public interest.
* Sophisticated understanding of the machinery of government and the strategic levers of public policy.
* Deep expertise in political, regulatory, or sector-wide strategic planning.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in law, public policy, political science, public administration or related disciplines (mandatory).
* Prior experience in the Victorian Public Sector or statutory authority setting is essential.
* Australian citizenship (mandatory for security clearance).
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
