Search Partners have partnered with Core Lithium to support the next phase of underground development at the Finnis Lithium Project in the Northern Territory.
We are currently seeking a Mine Planning Engineer to join the site based technical services team supporting underground operations and development activities.
This is a hands on operational role suited to someone who enjoys being close to site, working directly with operations, and delivering practical mine plans in a fast-moving environment.
The Opportunity
Working onsite alongside mining operations and technical services, you will support short to medium term underground planning activities, development scheduling, production coordination and daily execution support.
This role is less focused on corporate strategy or long range studies and more about ensuring plans are practical, achievable and aligned with operational requirements underground.
You'll be joining during a critical growth and ramp up phase as the underground is developed alongside the existing open pit, working within a lean technical team where decisions are made quickly and engineers are expected to be highly engaged with the operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce and maintain short term mine schedules and underground designs across daily, weekly and rolling monthly horizons
* Deliver practical development and production plans aligned with operational requirements
* Support weekly and monthly planning cycles and schedule compliance
* Work closely with operations to optimise underground development and production activities
* Generate mining instructions, dig plans and operational schedules
* Coordinate closely with geology, survey, geotechnical and operational stakeholders to ensure plans are practical and implementable
* Ensure planning activities align with safety, environmental and Cultural Heritage requirements
* Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on plan compliance and operational performance
* Provide technical support to site operations
About You
* Mining Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
* Underground mine planning experience
* Experience using Deswik for mine design and scheduling
* Ability to work autonomously in a site based environment
* Practical mindset with strong communication skills
* Previous exposure to underground development operations highly regarded
