Permanent Part Time Opportunity
Churches of Christ Queensland are currently seeking a part‐time Cook for Fair Haven Aged Care Service Hervey Bay for our 78‐bed residential care based in the suburb of Urraween. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, home‐style meals that bring comfort and enjoyment to our residents while supporting a safe and welcoming kitchen environment.
About the Role
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, creativity, and attention to dietary requirements
* Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment in line with cleaning and infection‐control standards
* Keep accurate records of key kitchen and stock data
* Liaise with supervisors and suppliers regarding stock control and ordering
* Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
* Contribute ideas for menu development and special events
About You
You are someone who enjoys working with the elderly and understands the impact good food can have on wellbeing. Your excellent time‐management skills, reliability, and commitment to safe food practices make you a valuable addition to our team.
You will also bring
* Demonstrated knowledge of commercial food preparation, cooking processes, and a strong knowledge of food hygiene
* At least one year's experience as a commercial cook
* Strong understanding of food safety legislation, texture‐modified diets, and special dietary needs
* Experience in the aged care sector is highly regarded
* Valid Australian work rights (Sponsorship is not available)
