The role
The Assistant Business Managers will support senior management by coordinating and managing financial, human resource management and procurement processes for the division. The role will provide quality assurance in the form of valuable and ethical compliance and governance, assisting management's decision-making processes, and will provide timely coordination of business support functions to enable business continuity and success.
With a strong focus on system and process improvements, you will also:
- Lead, manage and support business support staff to ensure all administrative and business processes are completed to a high standard
- Advise, consult, and negotiate with senior managers in the coordination and management of the budget and other business support activities
- Manage, prepare, monitor, and report on finance, compliance, human resources, information management, procurement, and contract management matters
- Prepare reports and correspondence and initiate action associated with financial, administrative, human resources and other matters

- Experience in successfully leading, managing and developing a diverse team within a high-pressure environment.
- Proven ability in developing and implementing business improvement initiatives to directly enhance service delivery outcomes and expectations.
- High level consultative, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills including the ability to direct and influence others through the provision of advice and preparation of reports, briefs, recommendations, and proposals.
- Conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify and interpret issues and develop quality options and strategies to resolve complex executive and business matters.
- Personal resilience and adaptability and a professional, credible, customer and solutions focussed approach

Located at Coopers Plains, FSQ operates specialised Forensic Biology, Forensic Chemistry and Forensic Operations functions that provides forensic services and expert advice to the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and the Coroner's Court of Queensland.
