About the Role
Symbio is an exponential growth company seeking to hire an Assistant Accountant.
This position will be based at our Head Office in the Brisbane Technology Park at Eight Mile Plains.
This will be an ideal opportunity for an analytical and dynamic individual, who has a focus on continuous improvement, and is looking to be part of a fast-growing multinational organisation.
This person will report to the Finance Manager and Chief Financial Officer, and assist in day to day accounting requirements of the Finance Function.
Responsibilities
Manage daily transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation and processing foreign currency payments.
Assist in examining operating costs and the organisation's income and expenditure, performing data analysis, and providing financial advice on business structures, plans and operations.
Process month/year-end close and prepare GL journals, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
Maintain the fixed asset register.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and budgets.
Assist in cash-flow management, forecasting and planning.
Conduct financial investigations, prepare reports and assess the financial risk of capital investment projects.
Seek to enhance internal controls and maintain compliance.
Assist in Accounts Payables Controls, including the weekly/monthly supplier payment batch.
Assist in Accounts Receivables Controls.
Assist with ad-hoc projects and duties as needed, e.g., implementation of new accounting standards, process improvements and introducing and maintaining new system implementations.
Assist in payroll administration.
Assist in external audit.
Support in top-ten cost analysis and reporting.
Assist in developing SOP and participating in business procedures improvement.
EOM accruals & variance analysis / EOM closure.
Ad hoc projects as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field qualification.
Minimum 1–2 years of Assistant Accountant experience.
High level of attention to detail.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Organisational and time-management skills.
Good computer skills, including Excel and business intelligence tools.
Be solutions-focused.
Experience in MYOB EXO would be an advantage but is not mandatory.
