About The Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced person to undertake a range of horticultural activities throughout the municipality.
Reporting to the Parks & Reserves Supervisor, this be hands-on in every aspect of keeping our parks and reserves beautiful, safe, and welcoming.
Your day-to-day work will include:
Planting and Landscaping: Helping to establish and care for gardens, trees, and lawns in public parks and reserves.
Weed and Pest Control: Keeping our outdoor spaces healthy and attractive by managing weeds and pests.
Mowing and Grounds Maintenance: Operating equipment to keep lawns and open areas neat, tidy, and safe for public use.
General Upkeep: Assisting with cleaning, minor repairs, and the overall presentation of parks and reserves.
Machinery Operation: Safely using a range of tools and machinery, such as mowers, chainsaws, and brush-cutters, as part of your duties.
Supporting the Team: Working collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to deliver high standards for our community spaces.

About You
You will be a self-motivated team player who has a good work ethic and good time management.
In addition, you will have good communication skills and a commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of those around you.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
At least 1 year's experience in a similar role (essential)
Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens (advantageous).
Experience with the operation of plant and equipment relevant to the position such as mowers, chainsaws and brush-cutters.
Physical fitness to perform manual duties, including safely lifting up to 15kg unassisted.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
a current driver's licence; and
be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol testing) to determine your physical fitness to perform the role.
Additional competencies to operate various civil construction plant and machinery will be looked upon favourably.
